1) What does Socrates’ utopia look like? Why is it considered a Utopia?
2) Compare Socrates’ Utopia to our own world… what are the differences? Similarities?
3) What is Socrates’ view on women? What about the other individuals in the conversation?
4) How does Socrates’ views on women compare to how women are viewed today in society?
5) Why do you think Socrates uses the word “Guardians” to talk about “Leaders”?
DUE TOMORROW AS WELL- Students are to read the last section (that was given to them in class) of Chapter 5 and annotate. Their notes should focus on the difference between opinion and knowledge. If you forget the readings at school, it is the last 5 1/2 pages of chapter 5.
